The book delves at the outset into Digital India’s Personal Data Protection Act, its framework, governance gaps, AI/ML challenges, risks, biases, modifications, case studies, red flags, and digital trust issues . The effort to position DPDPA on the global landscape, with a distinct Indian approach and explicit cases, is noteworthy.

The probable solution frameworks that address challenges and gaps between data rights & decision rights must meet the requirements of innovation, statutory urgency, and vulnerability concerns. The author’s exquisite model, which converts abstract governance principles for states and corporates alike into concrete decisions, is a catalyst for strategic management. This framework, vis-à-vis global standards, may be feasible to implement with explicit guidelines for necessary digital trust in India’s complex AI ecosystem.

There may not be a one-size-fits-all playbook for security in AI systems. However, a well-knit legal web with necessary frames aligning to protect citizens against deepfakes, ensuring psychological safety while scrutinizing each step in AI/ML data security, hopefully builds robust systems that do not compromise on vectors. The book shows the various pathways to meet the outcomes through templates, checklists, and DPIA guidance.

The author’s honesty about where the DPDPA falls short is commendable. He maps its limits, explains gap fillers, and makes a serious argument for India’s governance priorities over the next five years.
